After that post about the misandrist dogshit Takemine show, I'm curious if there are any other anime people here actually are excited for this season.
Still pretty early season, but right now I'm watching Can a Boy-Girl Friendship Survive, Shiunji Family, Summer Pockets, Witch Watch, Country Bumpkin Swordmaster, Makina-san, and Brilliant Healer's New Life. If you can't tell, I'm pretty much a sucker for low drama romances. I think I've aged out of repetitive shonen slop, and the grimdark edgelord stuff is just a little too insufferable for me.
But when is the Kaijuu number 8 movie dropping? I haven't seen it show up on any of the trackers yet but I'm pretty sure it aired back in March.
I just looked it up; March 28th as someone else mentioned...but that was only in Japan, and only theaters, it sounds like.
It sounds like the worldwide release was yesterday, under the name Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon. Not sure the distribution, though, and it's also listed as "screenings." Also, it sounds like it's just a compilation of season 1, with one new episode.
That seems like a pretty key detail. If it's like other shows that do recap compilations then it's safe to assume that episode is either the pilot for the next season or inconsequential to the larger plot. Good to know I won't have to worry about missing out on content then.
Almost certainly the latter.
From Wikipedia:
It's going to be filler, possibly even comedy, based on the name.
March 28th, then season 2 is tentatively releasing July.
Reports were wrong. The movie is dropping tomorrow in select theaters. I see some AMCs are airing it.
