After that post about the misandrist dogshit Takemine show, I'm curious if there are any other anime people here actually are excited for this season.
Still pretty early season, but right now I'm watching Can a Boy-Girl Friendship Survive, Shiunji Family, Summer Pockets, Witch Watch, Country Bumpkin Swordmaster, Makina-san, and Brilliant Healer's New Life. If you can't tell, I'm pretty much a sucker for low drama romances. I think I've aged out of repetitive shonen slop, and the grimdark edgelord stuff is just a little too insufferable for me.
Honestly this season looks pretty underwhelming so I'm probably going to spend it catching up on my backlog for the most part.
Ballpark de Tsukamaete is probably the most intriguing slice of life show I've seen come across my radar in a while, but I don't really go for that genre so I'll just wait for people to start raving about it before wasting any time with it.
I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level was a show I watched the first season of because there was a drought at the time but I might go back in for a second go if I deplete my backlog. It's good to have some disgustingly wholesome shows mixed in as a palette cleanser once in a while.
From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman looks like it's borderline Isekai slop which is the sort of trash I go for. It's also leaning into the emerging trend of shows that cater to men who are aging out of being able to relate to the youthful male protagonists and I am not above indulging in a show that is deliberately catering to me.
The Guilty Gear anime is probably going to be unholy trash because of what they've done to Bridget. I might check it out for an episode or two just to get a feel for the production quality but I sincerely doubt I'll be able to stomach it if Daisuke's recent retconning for the trannies is any indication of what I can expect from the show.
