American Krogan for some history told as essays about video game propaganda, also a neat 4 parter on the Visigoths.
Seconding this. American Krogan did some amazing work in the day. I still miss his original Doom essay. There was a follow up one, but the original got nuked off of youtube and I never found it again.

Unfortunately no. He did a video on Doom 2016 that predates this one and from what little I can recall, it went a lot harder. It's all fever dream memories now though so I don't know, maybe this is it and I just imagined the Doom 2016 breakdown.
Edit: That second video is totally the one I was thinking of. It has the line that's burned into my memory of "Giant White alpha male says 'NO'".
