Hat tip to Imp who tipped me off to this. Other things to note that lying is now an offence if the victim and judge/magistrate believes you have lied. And anything deemed threatening depending on how the victim determines is also covered under the law. Both invite huge fines and jail semtences.
If you are outside the UK, contact your representative and ask them why is the UK imposing its jurisdiction on your territory.
"Other things to note that lying is now an offence if the victim and judge/magistrate believes you have lied."
So instead of at least trying to get to the bottom of what really happened, the meta has shifted to who's better at using dirty tricks.
"What did you have for breakfast on may 5th 2007?"
"Man, idk."
"Come on you must have an idea."
"Well it could have been pancakes. or bacon and eggs. it might have been cereal. maybe breakfast was skipped that day"
10 minutes of questioning pass by
"So you said you had cereal on may 5th 2007"
"sure"
"AH-HAH! LIAR! You said you didn't know!"
The Government will decide on your behalf what is truth. Media outlets (who are in line with the Government) are exempt from the law.
U.K has fallen. Hopefully that shit doesn't come to America any time soon. need a few more years at least to prepare for the next circle of hell in retard world.
It sounds like they think they can.
The complete shitshow intensifies.
I think a Chinese or North Korean style Internet is their end goal.
That's what they ultimately want. They'll sell it to the public as fighting CSAM, abolishing hate speech, levelling the playing field for UK business (while still allowing Internet access for corporations) and other factors.
I think the UK Government genuinely believes that a free and open Internet as well as encryption was a grave mistake that needs to be reversed.
The UK government has done fuck all to protect the public from the real harms from tech companies but happily pass this trash.
Going from reports on thedonald kiwifarms is blocking UK users.
The second anyone in the UK accesses it with a VPN, Ofcom will take action.
They can still use tor.
For now. There's a video by Bryan Lunduke where it was found it was receiving US Government funds which have now been revoked. Also, Tor faces the same issue as VPN's under UK jurisdiction.
Also in regard to the lying. What if you get a dumbass judge who doesn't even know what a cognitive bias is?
They can fuck off with this truth arbitration bullshit.
"We decide what is truth"
The fuck you do.
America: "I see you economy is not doing well, you just halved your growth forecast to 1%, let's see what a 25% tariff does for fucking with OUR websites and companies.."
America still dominates most of the Internet so this'll put them in direct confrontation with them, but I'll laugh if the UK ALSO has a confrontation with China too thanks to TikTok.
At some point every country will have to ask what, exactly, does the UK offer other than fiat funny money.
Africa/ME - "it offers us a dumping ground for our excess poor young men."
The UKs response is to state that the current act doesn't go far enough and a new bill will be introduced later this year that will be even more draconian than the current law.
They're doubling down. At this point, quarantining the UK from the Internet may be the only option that pleases everyone.
And thanks to Apple of all people, there's precedent for withdrawing service than allow the UK government access or control of their systems.
Which is what companies will have to do. But it will have to be the big ones and they will have to stick to it. It's the only way the UK Government will reconsider anything.
I can guarantee, if Microsoft makes moves, this'll be dropped in seconds due to backlash.
Given HOW MUCH governments use the office software..
They may seethe at Microsoft and Apple exiting the UK market but there is one thing they despise more - the use of free and open source software.
Come again?
The UK government wanted Apple to make a backdoor into one of their encrypted services so they could snoop on anyone, including none British.
Apple instead pulled the service for the UK ALONE basically showing they'd rather tell the entire UK they can't use their product than allow the UK government to spy inside their systems.
Thank god. I think there probably wouldn't be much time before public backlash caused that to go crazy.

Clearly, these redcoats have access to time travel technologies. The US must invade them and secure this tech before they kill Washington.
They must have assumed we had those funny police boxes.
