oh, i know the animation was outsourced to japan (and I believe korea) but based upon designed made right here in the u.s. at marvel studios no less.
It gets fun. Yes, GI Joe was Universal, and had some Japanese animators. Ghostbusters had a similar thing.
That was the studio before it became Studio Ghibli. They were more involved with Little Nemo, which was directed by Christopher Columbus.
Korea came in during the 90's. It's actually to the point that all American Animators don't think it's a big deal. Which is why AI making animations is kind of funny to me.

I don't know. I'm sure someone got confused when they watched Gremlins or the first two Harry Potters. He goes by Chris Columbus in those credits.
