Only if recklessly negligent cops who don't bother to take a couple minutes to confirm what's going on before kicking doors down also get caned.

Of course. I don't believe in carveouts, I believe in actual equal rights, and I'm not even a fan of criminal modifiers. Do the crime, take the punishment.
