It's the Chinese, be glad you're just not being paid and not organ harvested. They cheat in their fictional work A LOT. 'Cultivation' is simply doing drugs to get ahead.
To be fair, Western superheroes often basically just got lucky (or even unlucky but it totally turned out well anyway.) And in anime Truck-kun is the bringer of power. Fiction can just be weird in general, because if you're going the superpower route it has to be somewhat fantastical.
Chinks are just niggers with the IQ to know better.
