Occam's razor tells us the simplest answer is usually right- Alec has a history of both violent and misogynist outbursts (he called his own daughter a "little piggy" when she was like 12), I'm going to assume he had another one unless I see some credible evidence proving otherwise.
The scene involved Alec pointing the gun at/ past the camera, which both she, the director and DP where standing behind. It missed the other two and hit her. It was an accident and Alec was doing what he was told to do for the scene. Why would you think he would just point a gun at her for no reason?
