What might we have done in the early days to generate a more vigorous immune response had we known what was coming?
One thought might have been to call politicians and companies and make sure they understand in no uncertain terms our opposition to this kind of nonsense. Make fun of it sure, but doing so while providing clear, concise breakdowns of what's wrong with the arguments would be another good point.
that old communist bulletin from the 40s makes its rounds every once in a while about mislabeling opponents as NAZIs and bigots, but what if a similar bulletin had made the rounds at the same time among their opponents, warning them exactly how they would try to discredit them?
We should make a list of probably strategies that these parasites will use and suggest effective countermeasures based on our own experiences in gamergate, etc. and pass them onto our Japanese friends through whatever channels we might have.
Passing on immunization efforts is a good idea. But if it's just a button list of what to do, it might not be the best effort.
It would have to be something like a system of guidelines, rather than if X then response is Y. If A, then response is B. The tactics will be the same but a bit different in another country. So they'll need more of a nebulous idea like if they attack with this, this other thing is their true intention. And if you let them in to the company, it will forever be worse for it.
They will also need reasons why these tactics are effective in warding off and blocking efforts by grifters and feminists (but I repeat myself) so it's going to be labor intensive.
And they might just decide to fight it their own way and ignore it. And if they do, heaven help them if they fail.
Thank you, that's what I was thinking, but didn't think to include it in my post
Don't get me wrong, I like the momentum that's building. But I don't understand people who think anything has changed. Specifically in regard to feminism, schools are still overwhelmingly feminine (up to and including college), the church is still overwhelmingly feminine, no-fault divorce still exists, family court is still a weapon against men.
I don't think a few sternly worded letters has anyone running for new feeding grounds.
I think it's possible we're in the very early stages of things changing, but there's a million things that can go wrong and derail it. I suspect shutting down USAID and other dark money money spigots is going to positive knock on effects that we can't necessarily foresee right now.
I suspect we're seeing multiple domino effects. conservative-leaning voters have lost their taste for war over the last twenty years, black americans have been promised the sun, the moon, and the stars on a silver platter in democrat-controlled cities for decades, only to be repeatedly delivered a pile of shit on a paper plate while said democrats are mystified why they aren't more grateful, game companies accepted ESG funds to stay afloat, only to watch their bottom lines drop faster than the titanic, Disney gobbled up every IP they could get their hands on, only to have each of them blow up in their faces when fans turned against their products, the 'moderate' democrats have courted the far left to be their shock troops, only to ignore them once they gained power so many times it's actually splintering what support they still hold, USAID was demolished by musk as you said, the trans issue roared ahead with no consideration for the toes it rolled over, the exclusionary nature of leftwing "inclusion" finally reached a boiling point, the family courts abuse of men, and those are just the issues I can think of off the top of my head. i'm sure there's others that none of us are aware of or at least haven't considered making for an avalanche that's going to roll over these people if they can't get their shit together or figure out they aren't as smart as they think they are.
My thoughts exactly.
oh the fight is far from over, but the tide is turning. we're actually winning some major battles, from the election to the fact they can't just handwave the criticism of AC Shadows off as racism to, hell, the fact that retard isn't a verboten word anymore.
We've still got a long way to go, but there's actual pushback now...
1 problem that people are STILL making, but was outright the norm back when this was starting to ramp up, is people saying "just ignore them, when they aren't getting the attention they want they'll go away". You don't ignore a parasite in your intestines, you flush it out.
you have to use a lighter touch in this case. if you go scorched earth, you can ingratiate the feminists to their intended victims, if you ignore them, they'll ingratiate themselves to said victims...
what you can't do is let up, simply because you won a single battle (see gamergate). you have to make sure that those whose ears may bend to them know that they'll lose your support if they bend the knee to feminist demands. Part of the reason feminism got a foothold is they were able to convince those in the institutions they targeted that their detractors were only a small, undesirable proportion of the population, and would simply go along quietly anyway, ie: game companies targeting 'new' demographics while ignoring and disdaining the people who not only bought their games, but in the past, help advertise their games for free.
