You must be confused. The left has routinely had protests more violent and destructive than J6. They have even had multiple groups break into the buildings while congress was in session and people that actually came into congress armed, or the guy who shot up the congressional baseball game.
The only thing preventing those events from exceeding J6 in national discourse is their media coverage - because the two things that made j6 impressive are the relative LACK of damage and violence from a crowd of that size over an issue of that import, and the incredible demonization campaign in the media.

It must have entered my mind that with the increasing distrust in modern news complexes, it would have been much, much harder for the media to hide or downplay a hypothetical incident like that.
