70K in SF is having to have roommates, and be familiar with ramen kits at home hehe. Irvine was about 3 to 5% cheaper, so not significantly. Although it is easier to have a car in Irvine, Cali.
Stock options were a meme in the dotcom bubble. The Simpsons even did a gag with some start-up's stock certificates dispensed on a roll like toilet paper. I don't know why people keep falling for it.
Unless you manage to negotiate remote work. For a do-nothing job like that, there's no need to even be in the same time zone as the main office so long as you have a minimal amount of self dicipline and can stay productive.
Keep in mind the location of employment...California. it basically is a slaves wage there as you aren't going to be affording much of anything with that pay compared to the lunacy that is the cost of living in CA
