I'll always appreciate Ignition Tokyo for being one of the few studios to tackle their interpretation of the Book of Enoch in a cool and sensibly stylish way. I wish more developers had the gall and creative wherewithal to do the same without being nescient about it.
Asura's Wrath was another good example of them really going all-in on a religion like Hinduism and being authentic about it. But I just wish more studios tackled the (pre) post-apocalyptic nature of the Book of Enoch in a variety of genres, it's the most mind-blowing book of the Bible with Revelations in a close second, yet no one does anything with it.
Studio 4C straight up did a more brutal adaptation of the Passion and Death of Jesus than even Mel Gibson did and it really puts into perspective how hardcore the Japanese are willing to go when they finally do pull something.
Unironically a short film that should be shown in churches and the like, simply for how powerful it hits.
I'll never begrudge Japan for that. If anything, more people should be thinking that Christianity looks cool.
Problem being that its all in the same puddle with a load of other religions to them.
So they will be putting the coolest looking Jesus next to 4 Gnostic demons, a Hindu god, 3 Yokai, and Zeus.
Which is cool, but very offensive to a lot of people to put some of those on the same level as others. Especially the Gnostic ones.

Never heard of it until today. Interesting looking short, I'll check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.
Even though he's drawn like a shonen protagonist, Shuumatsu no Valkyrie managed to make Adam--the Father of Humanity--fucking awesome.
And of course, the manga made Eve a busty blonde nudist.
