Regardless of the truth of the matter
If your sub-culture lionizes violence and criminality more than any other in the country, you really shouldn't be surprised when you start getting stereotyped you as violent criminals.
When your sub-culture lionizes financial exploitation, dishonest sophistry and having other people do your dirty work, what shouldn't you be surprised about?
