Dragon Quest creator isn’t happy with censorship in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
A new interview at Tokyo Game Show 2024 has revealed Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii isn't happy with the censorship in the Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, among other changes made to the remake.
Honestly it's a disgrace that the supposed land of freedom has caused this many problems for creative expression. Torishima and Horii have good heads on their shoulders (unsurprisingly), but it seems this cancer comes from above them and is imposed on them.
Japanese entertainment becoming globally popular is increasingly looking like a mistake, at least with the way western culture currently is. I hope they keep trying to make their works for the Japanese, but ill tides like this concerns me.
You don't even have to be a noticer, this is the sincere reaction from a industry professional to literal marxist subversion
They have leverage. They shouldve told the higher ups to fuck off. Unless they are desperate for money. They couldve crowd funded and release it on steam.
it was imposed on us first
The US embassy and military bases in Japan and its companies' entanglements with American ones have more to do with it being pozzed up than popularity.
Discomfort is the payoff to so many of the left. They want to "burn the industry to the ground. The goal is to make white people cry." Discomfort is being weaponized by an entire generation of crybullies with daddy issues who honestly believe they're owed the point of being on the moral high ground. They love it.
The sad part for us is the hypocrisy that this is perfectly acceptable against you. It's the implied superiority - their values are just more important. Hypocrisy as a business tactic is toxic. After these decades of gaming, supporting, funding, and actually giving a shit, gaming consumers deserve more respect and credit for making the industry a success. Instead, we're handed this blind hypocrisy and told to shut up when we should have a say in the matter.
If there even is a 'modern audience', they are writhing, infantile husks who think art and entertainment amount to controlling others and making them as miserable as themselves.
