I saw this rock Orchestra version of the song, and it struck a chord. The song is about the troubles in Ireland and how they never felt like they were ending.
Here's the Cranberries singing it at a concert explaining what it meant. They were hopeful that it was soon over.
Here's an anti war in Iraq version done by Bad Wolves. The singer from the Cranberries was supposed to sing with them, but she died a few days beforehand.
I've always enjoyed the song, but seeing the troubles in Ireland are having a sequel, it all has a new meaning.

Food:🍫 Dr. Pepper Brownies 🍫
These Dr. Pepper Brownies are rich, fudgy, and have a unique twist with the addition of Dr. Pepper soda. Perfect for any chocolate lover looking for something a little different!
Ingredients: 1 cup unsalted butter 2 cups granulated sugar 4 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup Dr. Pepper soda 1 cup all-purpose flour 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt For the Dr. Pepper Glaze:
1/4 cup Dr. Pepper soda 1/4 cup unsalted butter 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder 2 cups powdered sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Instructions: Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper. Prepare the Brownie Batter:
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and vanilla extract. Gradually add the butter and sugar mixture, whisking constantly until smooth. Stir in the Dr. Pepper soda. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Bake the Brownies:
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs attached. Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan. Prepare the Dr. Pepper Glaze:
In a small saucepan, combine the Dr. Pepper soda, butter, and cocoa powder. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and whisk in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined. Glaze the Brownies:
Pour the Dr. Pepper glaze over the cooled brownies, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Allow the glaze to set for about 15-20 minutes before slicing. Serve:
Cut the brownies into squares and serve. Enjoy these rich and fudgy Dr. Pepper Brownies as a unique and delicious treat!
