Years ago at the same bookstore I remember seeing one of the Dr. Seuss books with the big lip african tribals. It was in a glass display case and was priced at like $70. Also in that case was a copy of Madonna's 'Sex' book and an old leatherbound edition of Mein Kamph. They don't have anything like that anymore...
I actually 'read' (well, looked at) Madonna's Sex book when it first came out. There was a copy in a shop and I knew the owner, so he let me take it out of its packet - and by today's standards its tame as fuck.
By today's standards Hustler is tame. Also, wasn't her book at least on par with the standards of the time? Like wasn't it just like a Playboy photo shoot, glorified because it was in a limited edition hardcover album instead of a magazine available at every 7-11?
Yeah it was basically playboy level with some 'twists' - like public nudity and miscegenation
