Dude, they tried to tell people not to be sluts back in the early 80s when AIDS first got discovered.

Some people listened, it's only one specific group that rejected the idea almost unanimously. And that's why the HIV rates amongst gay men are still about 10x higher than the straight population even though there's been plenty of time to reach equilibrium spread.
