Part of the reason is people getting defensive when told that something isn’t diverse enough. Most if not all things just aren’t and that’s fine. I went to a bluegrass festival once and it wasn’t diverse at all. So be it. I had fun and the people there were having fun. Ignoring those who throw a tantrum about lack of diversity would be a major step in the right direction
lol. I passed by the local arena after running an errand about 10 years ago; I hit it letting out on my way home. Happened to notice that everyone seemed to be my age or older, and I started wondering "geez, what's with all the geezers?" So I stumbled across this couple, or rather, they stumbled across me, asking if they were going the right way back to their hotel. They were, and I had a chance to ask them what concert it was that was letting out.
"Bob Dylan".
lol. Biggest bunch of old white folk I'd seen in a long time, or since.
lol. I actually love his music but that proves the point that the vast majority of gatherings are not racially diverse. Generally there will be a main group with a sprinkling of others

I can't stand Bob Dylan, you can have my old white geezer card for him. I do like some of his song writing
lol. I’m a bigger fan of his songwriting. He did introduce me to the music of Woody Guthrie and Cisco Houston so I’m happy about that. Leadbelly too
Bob Dylan hasn't been able to sign well for ages. But I guess nostalgia
