I’ve been laughed at for my downloading of all my GOG games and in most cases I keep them both on an external HDD and burn a disc. I’ll win in the end, if only by not being expected to re-buy some Enfaggoted Edition on iSteam in 10 years when Newell keels over. It’s worked in the past, when that whole Dark Forces remastered thing got my attention I pulled out an original disc I bought as a little kid with my birthday money and loaded it into a modernized engine no problem.
I'm surprised they don't have PC games available on flash drives and SD cards, especially since it frees up lots of space on your HD. Would have expected the Switch to have normalized SD cards for games at least, although flash drives make more sense IMO, and they're harder to lose.
Bethesda making a "next gen" version of Fallout 4 that didn't fix any bugs and broke pretty much every mod worth a damn because the new hype around the franchise because of the shitty TV show still wouldn't get people to play FO76 is hilariously sad.

Do not suffer fools, brother.

Downloadable installers would be good enough for me, can then make my own copies, the always online and GaaS is the true problem.
GoG says hi.
Also no DRM.
The download page of your library also has previous versions, though not all of them.
(Of course not all games are avaliable on GoG.)
