I can see 3 reasons for this:
Least likely: they actually looked at the case without bias after Supreme Court
Likely: They decided to ditch it after lawfare shown ineffective and Supreme Court a good excuse to
Most likely: they are fucking terrified after the assassination attempt pretty much confirmed Trump's second term and scared he'll be on a warpath so ditching and running to save their skins .
I think it's actually the first. In her argument the judge wrote that Smith's appointment is unconstitutional which is what Judge Thomas wrote in his Supreme Court opinion. And unlike the NY judges she has been pretty reasonable throughout the case.

I've been a bit more jaded considering it seems Trump's been in court cases throughout ALL of Biden's regime.
He was left mostly alone in the first 3. They ramped it up to 11 during his 4th, coincidentally enough. Definitely has nothing to do with him being the Republican frontrunner, I'm sure.
Judge Cannon is a Trump appointee, and the left is reeeing in part because of that.
The FBI was literally caught adding secret clearance top sheets to stacks of papers.
The democrats playbook so far has been “let’s throw everything at him during the race to knock him out. And maybe afterwards we will drop everything so we don’t completely look unhinged in the history books.”
Now they are at an impasse, if they don’t drop all this shit now they are going to look weak dropping it when he wins.
Third one yeah lmao
This officially ended ANY lawfare attempt for the left and Deep State.
It's way simpler than that. Lurker is right. She's following the law, and Smith shouldn't even be in the court-room.
