As far as my username goes, it's derived from how batshit the left has gotten. I consider myself in line with a lot of mainstream left as policies circa the 90s and 00s. but the left swung so hard into collectivism and authoritarianism, that without doing anything I became a heretic to leftist dogma within a few years, pretty much exactly overlapping with the gamergate controversy.
My guy, you simply don’t recognize that what is happening is the end result of those policies you like, just taken to their logical conclusion. Liberalism will always devolve to this.
we are surrounded by authoritarians on all sides right now because power corrupts, and only those that seek power run for office. I reject the notion that what we are dealing with is the end result of any (actual) liberal ideology.

all these issues stem from welfare slavery, importing desperate people and then addicting them to government handouts and making them dependent. that's not liberalism. the welfare state was one of the leftist positions that I universally rejected growing up.
