The only thing of note is the quote from Miyazaki.
"I think it was the old ex-president of Nintendo, Iwata-san, who said that 'people who are afraid of losing their jobs are afraid of making good things.' I'm paraphrasing that, but I totally share this view,"
"I think it's true. And I think the people at Kadokawa, our parent company, understand that I hold this view very strongly. While we can't say 100%—we can't say with complete certainty what the future's going to hold for From and Kadokawa—at least as long as this company is my responsibility, that's something I would not let happen. So hopefully our players and our fans can take a little bit of assurance from that."
Does anyone else that read the article find this interviewer's question very strange?
big mega corps in the US are laying off people and closing medium-tier studios at best
"are you worried your Japanese parent company will lay off your Japanese staff?"
fromsoft has been making very successful releases repeatedly along with a huge dlc about to drop and you ask them if they are worried about being laid off? what a stupid piece of garbage this guy is
The woke bloat is real with western companies, Japan shouldn't have to worry about that unless they get infected with DEI, unfortunately we know that is the case with Sony and it's affecting them pretty badly.
On the flip side, I will be giggling to myself like an evil super villain at the thought of all the smug wokies having to move back in with their parents. Yes, this will include the journalists as well, because if AAA studios aren't making games for them to shill, journalists don't make money as we know and any half-decent indie dev isn't going to fork over money to these weirdos.
I have the feeling Fromsoft will certainly get worse in the future since they try to get a bigger audience and thats usually not a good sign. Not a fan of their openworlds just not great for the invasion mechanic which was unique to their games. And since Dark Souls 1 they made it harder and harder for invaders. Now you cant even invade single hosts anymore unless they use a certain item. Thats one of the signs the pvp audience isnt their core audience anymore, when they make it fail safe for the normies to enjoy pve. Even tho you could always play offline in earlier games but then you just dont have messages/coop, which was at least a trade off.
Maybe not but there is no big reason to buy the game if the pve challenge is all you want if you can also pirate it. And the invasion mechanic was the reason why I got 500hours+ out of dark souls 3 which would have been otherwise less than 100hours.

Naturally the writer is avoiding the rainbow elephant in the room.

Any Japanese company that has a prominent Western (aka CCP) branch will be affected by it.
Part of the reason why From hasn't been infected is because their Western branch is small.

Im not sure the pvp audience was ever their core audience.

Of the two Miyazakis I know, he’s easily the best. My parents gave birth to me, but FromSoftware is what made me a man.
What made you a man was video games?
Jeeze maybe I’m on the wrong board, but that should not be the case.
Maybe dating sims have just gotten that advanced? Lol.
