I might be early but I'm calling this the Longman effect- as the essay length increases it gives inevitable rise to smugness and overelaboration for the sake of indulgence at the expense of appeal.
I'm not naming names yet, I think we are at the horizons edge of the paradigm, so we will see what happens
Works for me, you nailed the description of what I find offputting about his videos.
If brevity is the soul of wit, then wordiness is its downfall.
