Honestly the same woman without makeup and older. She doesn't appear to have done anything to her face. Just changed her look.
So in game you should be able to swap costume right?
I invested years of my life into 3D modeling and texturing, you have no idea how much even the smallest detail can impact the looks of your model and make a girl look masculine, older, etc.
The gaming industry (and entertainment in general) is filled with hacks who have no talent and put no effort into their craft. They get some face scan so the hardest part (modeling the face) is already done, and they STILL manage to fuck it up every time (sometimes on purpose) and end up with a tranny looking abomination, because they don't know shit about texturing.
The only time I’d expect to see effort to make a character resemble their attractive model is if the character was trans in game. They’d probably go all out to make a bombshell.
Do you have any idea why they can nail Debra Wilson's face 100% perfectly every single time, but nobody else's?
Because it is a lot harder to notice discrepancies on ugly people.
Tangential, but what would you recommend as training resources for someone wanting to learn how to 3D model?
step 1 is be more specific in what you want to 3d model, if you want to sculpt more flesh and fabric, we're going to look at zbrush. If you want more hard surface stuff but artistic, or you're wanting to rig stuff, blender. If you mean more the designing of parts for engineering, then we want CAD.
Once we know that we can give specific advice for each software. So what exactly are you wanting to do?
Primarily blender, secondarily zbrush. I basically wanna be able to make games that look like higher-end 5th gen stuff, like say Perfect Dark or Vagrant Story.
It depends if you want to do it as a hobby or a profession. (I don't recommend going pro, the market is saturated and DEI up the ass)
If you want to do it as a hobby I recommend Blender (start with the Blender Guru's donut tutorial), Blender is great and keeps getting better and MORE optimized while other softwares keep getting bloated, if you want to texture for game characters you must also learn Substance Painter, but it is a marvelous and intuitive software and 100% worth it. Buy it on Steam, it is a one-time purchase.
If you want to get into the industry, it's probably better to invest on what they are used to, ZBrush, Maya...
If you want to model realistic characters, beautiful characters, etc. then you MUST learn from eastern Asia artists, they are the top of their game, Wingfox is a terrible platform but it has great artists. If you are on a budget, I recommend FlyCat on youtube, the guy is a legend.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll check these references out.
She's only 37. The average 37 year old does not look like that. This is the result of fucking with your endocrine system to the point where you start aging at 5x speed.
Alternatively, years of caking makeup onto her face has permanently destroyed her skin.
Actually, it's probably both.
True. Maybe she can get into some Hollyweird stuff for youth.
I don't think there will be a return journey, Mr. Frodo.
That's the actress that trooned out, IIRC. Significantly worse than just not covering herself in bullshit products.
Uhh, no, she's had masculinizing surgeries because she's a manlet now.
She looks the same to me.
Get your vision checked.
