Totoki also revealed Sony already considers the PS5 to be moving into “the second half of its console [life] cycle,” and they expect a gradual decline in sales. Sony will focus on optimizing sales with a “greater focus on revenue balance.”
Pretty much. The main selling point of this "gen" was not how much better games looked or how much more games can do now, but just faster loading times due to an SSD lol.
Back in February, Sony said the PS5 was in “the latter part of its life cycle.” It came out November 2020, so I guess that’s a good run? Did it ever get a killer app?
No, it certainly didn't. I think that you could name a good many for the Switch and a few for the XB1, but I can't think of something that would make me want a PS5 at all.
Wait, PS5 is in it's twilight years?
yep.

Between PS5 and Series X, it’s basically a game generation that never happened.

we swear we're not just standardized low end pcs with drms!
Never forget the switch is the ps5 generation equivalent.
Psx=64 ps2=GameCube ps3=wii ps4=wiiU ps5=switch
As always. And deservedly so. Nintendo reigns.
Haven't there been less than 15 PS5 exclusive games in the entire lifetime of the console?
And maybe 2 worth playing.

I mean, they're right. Most of the modern generations last about 8 years with a couple years of overlap.
They're not supposed to say that though.
Literally Demon's Souls was the only one it ever had.
The few it had for a while weren't enough to sell it, so they all ended up on PC to recoup losses.
