I will say that going out by lighting yourself on fire means you have to believe what you're doing (Because fire is one of the shittiest ways to die), but he was still batshit crazy and wrong.

I'd say the two go together though. If you believe in something that strongly, your mind probably isn't in the best place to be logical about it either. It's a bit of a Catch 22 I suppose; you believe so strongly you're not objective about it, which weakens your message.
