So he kills 6 people and 5 were women and they say he was specifically targeting women? If you just took a random sample of 6 people in the general population you'd get 5 women and 1 man like 1/4 of the time. What a joke.
It’s also a Westfield shopping centre (mostly clothes, homewares, cosmetics, “boutiques”, et al). In an area with almost certainly a proportionally higher number of young, single women than many other places (Bondi itself is literally one of the heaviest-touristed areas in the entire world).
I would almost guarantee that if they measured the sample population in there at the time, it would be heavily skewed towards women. Like probably 70/30, at least.
yeah. agree. it was a shopping mall. in a "crowded Sydney shopping center" wow killed mostly women wow what a shock. a shopping mall. I know when I'm trying to locate my friends the first place I look for them is at the local shopping mall.
Actively seeking out women, says who? Were you there? He was probably just seeking out the weakest targets. All he had was a knife. You gonna take a run at a 6'4" 240 pound man or the mother and baby if you want to inflict harm on others? This is just a case of women make easy targets because they're women not a case of he's attacking women because he's an incel woman hater. Did he check the baby's gender before stabbing it? Think he could tell from afar? He was going for easy targets.
He turned away from multiple men that he could have attacked. I've been watching the news cycle 24/7 since it happened - I've seen the CCTV footage - I've read countless eyewitness reports.
Perhaps. He could also just be scared of men because they aren't easy targets. I'm just playing devil's advocate here. I have a hard time trusting the news cycle if they want to frame things in this manner because they're wrong about things 99% of the time.

At a guess, anyway.
But what do I know. I hate Westfield malls…
Elliot Rodger killed just as many men as he did women and yet it was still labelled as him targeting women.
I guess it shows that facts and logic should not get in the way of a narrative and how much the media values men.

He was actively seeking out women - the male that dies was a security guard literally on his first day of the job with insufficient training.
