There are similar anti semitic lies created to make Jews look bad, for example the conspiracy theory about Jews running transgender clinics in Germany or some random guy that raped a girl pre civil war and his defenders founded the ADL. None of these are proven but are widely circulated by the far right (and now Islamists).
