Japan is over. 20 years or less until it is a San Francisco-tier shithole.

Or they bring back the shogun. It's Japan, it seriously could go either way.

EDIT: This seems like it could be a good basis for a fun novel, actually. Something along the lines of a Blaine Pardoe overtly political alternate reality story. It wouldn't be the core, but it would be the story of this version of Japan; fed up with social justice intrusions in their society, they remilitarize and start kicking ass. I kind of want to do it.
