Sometimes the process is the punishment. Her money might be near infinite but her time left sure is not.
Are they retarded enough to chase Rowling and her sweet sweet taxes out of the UK?
The thing is, where would Rowling flee? A blue US state? She might get in the same trouble over hate speech laws, would complain about the same troon problems, and might have to fight for the right to offend troons to the Supreme Court. A troon might also off her.
A red US state? She'd be permanently reeeeing for more intersectional feminism, but she'd be happy if her state banned grooming / trooning-out kids and isn't letting males crush females in women's divisions.
If living in a blue city of a red state, she could also get offed by a troon.
I wonder if she would agitate for open borders in the US. Likely.
We ain't got no hate speech laws in the US and won't, thanx to the First Amendment to our Constitution. All the persecution is unofficial, carried out by the media and within the universities.
This just in: businessinsider.com writes, "A California court struck down a 2017 anti-discrimination law protecting LGBTQ elders, making it legal for employees to intentionally misgender and deadname patients at long-term care facilities."
That's a little overstated. The 1A is still real enough to crush misgendering laws here, and while the threat to her life shouldn't be ignored, it's probably the same in Scotland. I know NYC and some other jurisdictions supposedly fine you for misgendering, but I've never heard of someone prosecuted for it yet.
There are only a couple of states, like CA (of course) and MI that are considering fines for misgendering, but it would never get by a legal challenge.
Nah, the process is for plebs with no media clout. The last thing they want is to draw more attention of the normies. Positive or negative, coverage from both sides would send this issue into the stratosphere.
