I’ve never understood this logic. “I don’t see myself in games, so I’ll create my own game with an original story”. If that is so important to you then you should be motivated to do what I described. Tearing down what others built is an immediate sign that you aren’t a gamer and hate the industry
Same with Hollywood movies. If a studio wants to make a space opera where the protagonist is a Mary Sue, they should just make their own IP. But no, they had to destroy Star Wars. Or a Sci-Fi where robots travel back in time to kill a teenage girl who threatens their plans, they should make their own IP. But no, they had to destroy Terminator.
