COVER Corporation Announces Its First Overseas Branch, COVER USA | COVER Corp.
COVER Corporation is a next-generation entertainment enterprise that shares content that is uniquely Japanese with the rest of the world—principally through hololive production.
That's an oof right there. Is California the only state known around the world? Or just by the corporate world? I feel like they always land there and end up dying and festering...
Hollywood is still considered the entertainment capital of the world, and my experience with Japanese nationals, even those who have lived in the US for a long time, is that they love California because:
There's tons of other Japanese living there in the big cities, along with Japanese restaurants, grocery stores, doctors, insurance agents, etc.
It's really close to home so they can visit quickly and cheaply at least once a year.
They are completely out of touch with American politics. The idea of blue states vs. red states or "get woke go broke" is meaningless to them.
They're gonna learn. Will it be the first time an actress gets pricked by a syringe needle with HIV? Or when a homeless encampment springs up outside the shipping warehouse and they rob a truck and use some daki covers as blankets? Maybe it'll be Dindu Nuffin #9482 who committed suicide by cop and suddenly antifa tries to burn down their headquarters. Maybe it'll get burned down anyway when the twitter tranny mob decides to turn it's eye on the big tiddied anime girl with breasts that wobble too much on stream.
Traditionally a lot of Asian companies go to California first to do business. Actual goods shippers for obvious reasons, despite their horribly managed ports it's still generally the easiest first port of call.
And even for intangible businesses the slightly closer timezones and lots of experience with Asian clients still probably counts for a lot.
You mean the state that actually mandates DEI to companies within it? This is going to go "fantastic".
CAN THE SAN ANDREAS FAULT LINE FUCKING DO SOMETHING ALREADY?!
As long as this doesn't negatively affect Korone in any way I wish them the best of luck.
they're probably doing this to have a 3d studio that doesn't necessitate all the girls traveling to japan so often
