If you look at his record, it's as if the candidate was made in a laboratory to be liked by you.
His record isn't terrible, but far from perfect.
Supporting lockdowns, tax increases on the middle class, and wars abroad (especially that cringe Ukraine shit)?
Not to mention his suspicious political ties, plus his sheer incompetence at running a political campaign and terrible fund management really makes me doubt his ability to control, well, anything on the economic front, especially on a national level.
In early 2020, nearly everyone - including Trump - supported lockdowns, and for far longer than DeSantis.
Dunno about the tax increases.
Re: Ukraine. He had the right instinct, in saying that he didn't want to get involved in a border dispute in the east of Ukraine. The backtracking made me suspicious too that he is a closet neocon, but it was probably just the fact that the anti-neocon vote was already locked up by Trump. I bet he will make his anti-neocon position far more obvious in 2028 as Trump's successor.
Yes, which is why I didn't say that Trump implemented lockdowns like dim-witted Democrats claim. He verbally supported them, and criticized some governors for getting rid of them. Ergo, supported them.
Trump supported lockdowns for longer than DeSantis.
Which is OK, people can make mistakes. But DeSantis was rather good on the coronavirus far sooner than the rest of people.
No, he didn't support them. He consistently said "the cure cannot be worse than the disease". (Though there's some irony there with the vaccine stuff, but I digress, nobody is unfortunately based on vaccines in the republican candidacy)
Moreover, implementing lockdowns is far more egregious than verbally supporting them even if he did do that, you'd think this would be common sense.
Why do you think a massive loser in 2024 is going to be the candidate in 2028? That’s not how any of this shit works. Biden, a previous loser, had to be installed.

Look, I have no ill will toward DeSantis, but this is bullshit. The fact is his donors hit the phone a friend button.

At least Desantis didn't support the creation of the vaccines in the first place.

Desantis' hopes for 28 if he has any, all hinge on Trump losing 24. If Trump wins 24, whoever he picks for VP will most likely be the nominee in 28.
If Trump loses in 2024, the deluge will probably sweep away any Trumpist candidate, including DeSantis.
The base won't go back to neocon candidates, so that ain't going to matter.
What are you talking about? There were no lockdowns on the federal level and he spoke out against them, all lockdowns were done by states.

Reagan: massive loser in 1968, slight loser in 1976.
Of course, DeSantis is no Reagan, at least qua charisma, but your general rule definitely does not apply.
