Look at the channel. "Life on venus flourishing!" "New UFO coverup lead by William Shatner!" "Earth struck by alien super weapon in 2021!!" "NASA detects galaxy under construction by aliens!!" "Aliens!! ALIENS!!!"
Dudes a nutter.
I'll wait for a more reliable source. There's no real point in virtue signaling if no one gets the signal, so if this is true we can expect a press release or tedX talk about it at some point.
If this was the case, why wouldn't Astrobotics be kicking up a fuss about it? They, their stakeholders and everyone who isn't a Navajo grifter would win that fight, and even if they didn't it would be better for their reputation to be fucked over by a corrupt and retarded government than to pretend their spacecraft suffered an irrecoverable failure during launch.
Wow, and here I thought because everything went quiet about that fuss, that they'd dropped the suit. Literally can't cuck any harder than this, giving away the fuckin moon.
The mission was already fucked. The leak in their propellant system meant they couldn't achieve a stable orientation towards the sun. When the decision was made they had enough fuel to maintain attitude control for 40 hours, after which it would tumble and eventually lose power.
Deorbit while they could still command where the deorbit would occur was the only responsible choice.
Doubtful it was to appeal to the Navajo Nation. Courts just told them that the Feds don't have to do anything for them beyond the original treaty wording.

Apparently the Feds are Astrobotics biggest customer, and they don't want to bite the hand that feeds them.

The natives' Sky Spirits crashed the lander.
