No arguments. So they took their field hollers and applied them to a European music scale so to speak. One of my favorite old blues song is Gallows Pole by Leadbelly which was redone by Led Zeppelin. The song traces back to a Scottish ballad. That’s what got me interested in looking into more roots of music.

A lot of blues has its roots in Irish and Scottish ballads, the chaotic rhythms seen in jazz can also be seen in Irish jigs. The intermingling of those cultures with black slaves is also where a lot of names (Tyrone is Irish), food (fried foods were Scottish for field workers because the coating held well over time), and social practices (anti-reading, porch lazing, slight culture) were all Scot Irish traits that the New England culture despised.

Also, frying food is Energy Boosting 101. Take a cheap piece of food, coat it with breading, fry it in oil/tallow/lard. Instant calorie increase.

That’s why scotch eggs were popular, eggs have always been a cheaper protein, throw some sausage on and deep fry and you have farm work fuel for cheap

Sowell wrote about that in Black Rednecks. At least that’s when I first learned

Pure civil war propaganda. There needs to be a de-yankification of the US culture. Those are lies created by cafe-sitting coffee swilling stockbrokers, bankers and, merchants that have never worked a day in their lives, to feel better about genociding white straight southern males. And they have especially never worked outside in 95 degree weather with 80%+ humididty. You simply cannot work outside like that day in and day out without sitting in the shade in the hottest parts of the day. If you try, you WILL die of heat stroke.

It's especially telling that Africa and the middle east have honor killings without Scottish influence, but somehow as soon as a negro touches American soil, it's the Celts fault. Fuck off with that shit. Negros are Negros.

Sowell is a bane of American culture. There is no such thing as a former communist.

It’s not. It was repeatedly shown back to Ireland and Scotland, sorry to burst your bubble. Social infighting over social status dates back to the Celts including maiming the losers. Maybe, just maybe try reading before defending trash cultures

Meanwhile: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_duels_in_the_United_States https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Confederate_duels

There were more duels in Maryland than in the whole of the south. And it was the English that formalized pistol dueling.
