Guess he was never taught the whole “when in Rome” lesson. I speak Spanish due to jobs I’ve had and I’ve met some Hispanics in Texas who had lived here for years and never took the time to learn English
colonizers aren't going to learn the local language, they make you learn theirs. that's why I didn't take Spanish back in high school, "oh but what if you have to deal with Hispanics in your future jobs?" fuck off, jobs that have to deal with no Ingles Mexicans aren't the jobs I'd ever want.
I enjoy learning languages (have some French, Portuguese, Latin, and Italian books because I’d like to learn those eventually since they are close to Spanish) but agree that if you are in someone else’s country then it’s on you to learn the language (when in Rome). If I had to live in Japan or wherever for business you better believe I’d be learning as fast as I could.
Hah sorry you'll have to see all the diversity pictures in duolingo
Try this reading a physical copy of this:

while listening to it on this:

It's not free but it greatly improved my acquisition compared to Duolingo.
And it seems like every big or fancy word in English is Latin based. You learning for any specific reason or just because?
They aren't jobs that should exist because those south landers should be learning our language or more preferably not being here in the first place.
