The progressive gaming industry basically 'adopted' her as a team mascot to represent their left-liberal progressive values of 'diversity, inclusion and equity'. She's black, she's female, she's conventionally unattractive as a female, she's most likely lesbian (not going to look that one up).

She's a DIE mascot. She's supposedly proof that the gaming industry has 'matured'.
