I swear do these people even know what objectification even is? When I think of that word, I think of shit like bondage porn when a woman is quite literally reduced to a object with no human traits, like serial killer type shit. Since when does liking fictional sexy women mean you view real women as pure objects? And how does a female character just looking feminine mean men see women as pure non human sex objects?
Objectification doesn't exist.
It's not, it was a term coined by two marxist sociologists: Barbara Fredrickson and Tomi-Ann Roberts.
But even then it's more retarded in this context since Harley Quinn is a fictional character...
Objectification certainly does exist: In Vietnam, when leading generals were discussing strategies that involved gassing their own troops, acceptable losses and whatnot, that was reducing the men involved into merely active objects.
Objectification of women, though, not nearly so common. For they are viewed as so inherently valuable, that an active effort to reduce that perception is still giving special consideration.
Just like gaslighting.
Women want to be objects. That's why when they photograph something they always have to put their face in there too
