Where I live it starts the day after Halloween.
Certain places put up Christmas lights on November 1 where I am, and the "official Christmas station" on the radio starts playing Christmas music nonstop right after Thanksgiving. 20 years ago the nonstop Christmas music started less than a week before Christmas. Christmas creep is real.
I've seen stores starting selling Christmas themed products in October, I actually made a complaint to customer services to IKEA once because they started on 30 of September.
Everything starts a few months early these days. School starts in mid to late August here and they're already selling Halloween stuff at that point.
Advent began Dec 3.
I avoid secular Christmas these days (I can because I have no children) and keep it a day of quiet meditation followed by a feast and much drinking after a Christmas Eve with much drinking and exchange of gifts..
Early? It starts right after Thanksgiving where I am, and Christmas lights go up in certain areas on November 1.
I've been listening to his playlist on repeat while I work.
I've said for years Christmas should stay in December, meaning nothing before the 1st and everything gone on the 31st. Not that I really enjoy the holiday anymore anyway. For me, it's just arguments, complaining, rules about how to give presents and who I'm allowed to visit and all if I don't want a bunch of emotional shit.
