I had to get rid of my phone back in I wanna say 2013 or so. I realized that I was on my phone more than I was off my phone. And I sat back and realized everything I was missing out on by being absorbed in my own little world, while I exist in another one. The real one.
So I just cold turkey dropped it. When the contract ran out mid 2013, I never renewed and I honestly don't miss it. At first I definitely did. Not going to lie there. Took a few weeks to pull myself out of the cell phone habits I had picked up.
I have an old fashioned land line, and I make and get calls that way, and that's fine. I realized I don't actually miss it anymore, and I think I'm better off without it.
