My phone lives on my bedside end table most of the time, and I often leave it at home when I am out running local errands. I have considered ditching the smart phone and going back to a dumb flip phone many times. Honestly, for what smart phone functionality I actually use, I could get by with an android tablet.
I got a "dumb phone" back when 3G shut down. It's a buggy, clunky piece of shit. It was also the only one supported by my carrier. I'm not sure they make good dumb phones any more.
They don't. I got pushed off my 3G slide phone when 4G became the minimum standard. I wound up on a feature-locked 4G phone, which is what passes for a dumb-phone these days. I'm quite sure it has all the 4G tracking, so it lives on my desk 90% of the time.
I switched to a Sunbeam when they finally pulled the 3G network out from under me and forced me off my 15+ year flip old phone. It's done alright by me, though it isn't as durable as the old flip phones.
