The only way the US should spend money on this conflict is to secure their own borders and communities. Not on financing terrorists and yet another retarded forever war.
Also, they should care about the hostages because it is a reminder to everyone what the sand people always have been. The fact that invasive sand people and their apologists seek to erase the fact the terrorists took people hostage is of concern.
It was a problem for the founding fathers of America. They had to pay an insane amount of money for ransoms when those criminals took their people hostage. If you're gonna ignore that, that's your problem.

Not really. Taking civilians hostages demonstrates cowardice, weakness and greed. And if you think that isn't a problem now, you're no different from those imbeciles who trusted islamic terrorists to "play fair" after they were bought with American taxpayer dollars.
The USA was correct in responding to hostage takers with military force, complete with a naval bombardment operation that made the IDF's Gaza Invasion look soft in comparison.
