I'm just saying that elementary school kids didn't have the ability to have sex with people in games 10-20 years ago.
Remember the controversy around the "Hot Coffee mod" with Rockstar getting threatened by government officials over a feature that wasn't even in the game? (the code was there but they hid any way to get to it before release)
Now if my triple A title doesn't include a press-X-to-fuck-the-goddess minigame it's fucking lame.
Oh bullshit.
Yes, graphically things are very different now, but I came of age in the 80s and 90s and there was plenty of downloadable porn, pornographic games, etc. The early days of the Internet were wild.
I played a Star Trek text adventure game where you could fuck Troi, explicitly.
Before the Internet, there was a local BBS (does anyone remember those) with two phones lines--most only had one--that you could dial in on that had degenerate shit, super tame by today's standards, but pictures, stories, games, etc.
Leisure Suit Larry? From the 80s. https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/romancing-the-code-the-hooker-scene-in-leisure-suit-larry
The same as BG3/Witcher sex scenes? Nope, but this shit has only grown with the technology. It's been there since early days.
Bruh. I'm talking about mass market games, not schizo porn off Limewire and dodgy Geocities sites. 95% of kids were not aware of text ""games"" where you could diddle Troi
AND EVEN THEN
the exposure of the mass market is a totally different scale than the porn you could search on the internet. Exposure to porn is one of the most time-honored groomer tactics in the book. I wonder why the market developed this way?
Bruh, you may or may not be old enough to remember, but this shit was easily and widely available.

Leisure Suit Larry was in every Egghead, Babbages, Funco, etc around. It was mainstream, by one of the most mainstream and family-friendly companies out there.
Why did the Romans have pornographic artwork. Why did most cultures around the world. Because people are nasty, horny, beasts who like looking at titties.
If left to our own devices, people want to fuck and and look at titillating things. Culture needs to fight against that. My beef is with your recency bias. This is NOT NEW.
You're acting like Leisure Suit Larry was a household name in gaming. I think we all know that's not the case.
Exposure and normalization of porn TO CHILDREN. Don't be obtuse.
to be fair, they could have just checked to see what new game was hot right now, and BG3 was at the top of some list, so they went with that.
Keep in mind, though, This was a scene from the south park movie...
Yeah I know lol. It's South Park.
I'm sure they just grabbed it off the Steam charts or whatever, but it does represent the state of the mass market. I was playing Baldur's Gate 2 around that age too.
true.
I dunno, I remember the fuss when Doom and Mortal Kombat came out. Ultimately, though, It's the responsibility of the parents to know what their kids are up to, especially on the internet. (and it's debatable whether kids should even be on the internet under the age of thirteen in the first place.)
