Yes yes Israel is shit but so are the Palestinians. They're acting like victims after massacring innocents. At the end of the day, I have no horse in this race and ideally both kill themselves and leave us the fuck alone with their idiocies.

Neither side at this point is restricting itself to killing fighters on the other side. The ridiculous thing about this conflict, as opposed to say Russia and Ukraine, is the power imbalance. People argue rightfully I think that Israel should be held to a higher standard as they are the ones with a real country. That real country is responsible for the day-to-day misery of the people in Gaza, who don't have a real country supporting them.
Israel isn't being treated as a terrorist group for its part in killing civilians. Hamas is. I assume Israel wants to keep its legitimacy, and Hamas doesn't care. So Israel is the one that must apply restraint. No quarter is expected of terrorists.
