Idk how familiar you are with organized religion, but you need to be affiliated with some type of church body if you're going to convert, like a synagogue in this case. I mean you could always just say you're Jewish, but then you'd just be a crank.
Well, yeah. It's what I said in the original post. Learn their values and beliefs, start following the tenets, attend one of their religious establishments, and proclaim yourself a member of the faith. What else do you need? A member card?
My question to you was what more would judaism require, specifically. You claimed that it was a difficult process. How is what I said above different for judaism than for any other faith?
jews purposely make it extremely hard for people to convert to judaism. They arent looking for converts unlike other religions they actively reject converts. Because in the jewish world view they want goys to be slaves of the jew and they cant have that if everyone converts.

In what way? By frowning at you and talking in your back? What concrete method do they employ to enforce that?
How would anyone know whether you're Jewish or not, if you were to move to a new area?
You have to study for years and perform rituals to prove your sincerity. You don't proclaim yourself as a member, they do. If they accept you.
The synangogues would keep membership rolls. I'm assuming you know the difference between Judaism the religion and the Jewish ethnicity.
