It's a single player game with no multiplayer or DLC that I can recall of. Everyone just beat it.
As always, the left use statistics without context in a vain attempt to validate their ideology. If you want to see if it was successful or not let's see what franchise the affiliate studios are investing in or the results if you're harassment (cough) boycott campaign...
Not to mention likely appeals to younger console players.
The graph doesn't even give us enough details to see what the player base is right now. It could be bad or good, given it's age, at this point.
I'll compare it to another very well received single-player game: Factorio
Factorio appears to have 21,000 peak players for the month of September.
Hogwarts Legacy seems to be holding at 15,000 peak players for the same month.
I'd say that's okay for a single player game that was well received, and average replayability; compared to one of the most popular niche single-player games on the market with autistic levels of replayability.
If you consider the flash to be a nuclear blast, it's actually an ironically apt analogy since they were both wildly successful beyond what anyone imagined initially.
