Arresting artists using pen/pencil on paper or a computer and nothing else is despicable. You are punishing concepts and ideas than 'rescuing victims'.
Those that focus on restraining fiction usually wish to remove the safeguards and restraints of reality.
Yup, that's always been my stance too. I'm no fan of loli (or how passionate/obsessed people on 'muh both sides' get), but I've always found the idea of banning - and especially criminalizing - it absurd and very dangerous.
Some people want to ban all porn, and don't see it as speech (different topic, not touching it here), but banning only specific (and drawn) porn is clearly infringing on speech.
The example I always go to on the loli stuff is, are we really saying if an artist puts pencil to paper and draws a lewd character, the artist can be arrested based on how big or small he draws the tits? It's absolutely absurd.
I put a firm barrier between fiction and reality, the only kind of stuff in the grey zone is actors as things can be faked with props but then there's using child actors for certain filming projects.
If it's real, full scorched earth and stop the monsters. If it's fiction so just a drawing, I ain't caring I'll just not view it. Unless you want to completely lobotomise everyone to control their imagination or do what the left does which is restrain fiction but want to be complete unrestricted in reality, it's not a good path to go down.
Do you want the kind of person who chooses to view it working with children? Or otherwise in a position with any kind of authority or discretion?
It is the same with drug laws. They aren't only about drugs, they are also an easy pretext to get undesirables out of society.
Broken windows policing works.
The issue is S. Korea is charging lolisho like it's child porn, not that they are banning it alongside porn in general.
There would have been no controversy if people ONLY got charged for violating the general porn ban for shit that isn't CP.
It isn't a "concept", it is a product.
Not just that but if you criminalize fiction then you drive people to reality.
