"Choose if your pronouns are visible to all users or only to your subscribers"
...Why? Just... why?
As a troll of higher standards, I try to understand the other side at least on a surface level, so as to better interact. From what I thought I understood, denying someone's pronouns is worse to them than being a national socialist is to sane people. If you're going to have the function, why have it tiered? Optional, sure, product differentiation, that makes sense. But the people who want pronouns in the bio... REALLY want pronouns in the bio, to the point of strongarming and blackmailing. And the people who don't... Won't use the function.
There's no point of a "middle ground" option here. Because it's something you're either part of the cult, or you're not part of the cult, line in the sand.

You're missing the other side of it: they can use it to groom young people.
Subscribers who adopt to the Church of Leftism pushing for a content creator to join the alphabet mafia might suggest they add pronouns to their bio (there have been plenty of social media people I've come across who have said crazies keep asking them about when they will add pronouns to their bio).
Crazies who can bully malleable people into adding pronouns to their bio -- even if only for subscribers -- is one step closer to being turned out by the globohomo agenda.
Some creators forfeit it because they know normal people will react with disgust (I love DrDisrespect's reaction to seeing the Bethesda PR's pronouns in their bio). If you can use a wedge to give crazy lefties an inlet to bully someone into adding pronouns without the rest of the broader audience catching on, it gives the content creator an opportunity to sate the crazies, sort of like, "Here, I added pronouns just for you guys!"
This will create the typical cyclical loop of the crazies going "So proud of you! Glad you can safely display your true self with us! Now when are you coming out as trans?!?!"
You might think it's simple or pointless, but if you've watched any of Matt Walsh's videos about de-transitioning, YouTube will then recommend more videos about de-transitioning, and oh boy is that a real rabbit hole...
Turns out there are quite a lot of impressionable young people out there -- especially between the ages of 15 - 21 -- who got wrapped up in the whole trans-trender gimmick; taking HRT and moving towards ruining their lives forever. Some of them eventually snap out of it (not before permanently ruining their lives with HRT, though), while others are still wrapped up in it.
There are some who are confused, lost, and completely borderline on the edge looking for community and support... those are the exact kind of people that this kind of insidious feature targets. People who don't want to be bullied back into normalcy by normal people, so instead they become enabled in their delusions by the small cult of followers trying to groom them to the other side.
Seemingly small things like this may not mean much to us, but every inch they can use to creep the woke mind virus into impressionable people is an inch they will take. It also further normalises this degeneracy and gives the useless centrists the opportunity to say, "Everyone has pronouns. Who cares if they're displayed to the public?"
Meanwhile, it kind of reminds me of how a mother lost her son to the whole trans grooming community due to social media influences:

I'd assume its because they know people are using "pronouns in bio" as a green flag to bully someone. So now you can put a small shield against that fact to limit it only to people who, in theory, are on your side because they subscribe to you.
I might be being optimistic about their planning ability, but that's literally the only answer I can come up with for it.
