The GOP doesn't stop this. They did the First Step Act and now criticize Dems like Biden and Hillary (rare Ws for each of them) for supporting anti-crime bills in the 90s.
I get it but I don't think that will happen. I think we've reached the apex of BLM-adjacent hysteria. Libs will kiss even more black shoes, but conservatives are hardening.
You have to keep in mind that everything that happened in 2020 was the culmination of a two decade-long messaging campaign to reshape perceptions of racial disparities. We have passed the peak.

Hysteria? Sure, but their policy changes are still in place and still getting people killed. With the white population in decline, it will get harder and harder to fight it. I'm betting that in a few years there will be a similar riot movement based around this new crop of immigrants. A lot of them are from places far worse than the likes of Mexico.
That's not the GOP, that's Trump and his cult of supporters. And Biden's support of 90s crime bills was not from some sort of principle. He merely stuck his finger in the air and felt which direction the wind was blowing.
The bill had GOP backers who were in office before Trump ever ran, including the absolute fossil, Chuck Grassley. I'm aware Biden has no principles. That's not the point.

No cash bail is 100% the cause of this incident, not First Step.
Don't worry. The GOP will start supporting that soon enough.
