AmStaffs seem to be mostly just pits with a new name to try and duck the deserved horrible reputation from what I've seen on the banpitbulls sub on reddit.
That's the problem, it isn't the same breed.
Pit bull owners all want to pretend their dogs are AmStaffs so they are allowed in rental apartments / restaurants / etc that ban pit bull breeds.
Since it is one of the closest breeds it is the most commonly faked breed for a pit bull owner who is lying about their breed.
They are totally different animals in temperament.
